In the world of instant messaging, what do you think about spelling and our minds?

Is it a mettar of cerorct snillpeg or cerorct letetr uasge?

Every word in this example is misspelled, but contains the correct letters for our mind to reassemble.

Here's an alternate example - the letters and spelling are wrong. Can you still understand the message? (Hint: Read it aloud)

For instant messages (IM), I don't think spelling is important as long as the message is clear. IMs are an informal and live dialogue. Do you correct your colleagues when they misspeak during a live face-to-face conversation? Do you think less of them when they get tongue-tied?

However, I believe spelling is important for formal correspondence in the same way we expect public speakers to speak correctly.
